Field station Berlin Magnet Field Station Berlin New Crest

The Berlin crest (the bear on a shield topped with a crown) has been modified to create a specifically Field Station Berlin crest. The crown atop the Berlin crest has been replaced with the Teufelsberg logo, and a scroll with the honorific Outpost of Freedom has been added below. The Berlin hill known as Teufelsberg is where Peace was built on the foundation of the rubble of World War II.

The design rests on two mottos:

  • On Watch — the motto of Field Station Berlin.
  • Semper Vigilis — Latin motto of the Army Security Agency.

The new Berlin city-district crests are topped with a brick-work crenelation displaying threet turrets with the Berlin City crest on the central turret.

The shield displays the Teufelsberg logo, atop a pile of rubble, which is the actual basis for the elevation known as Teufelsberg in Berlin. The logo is flanked by both the Army Security Agency (1945-1976) and the INSCOM flashes. The crest is supported by a scroll with the honorific Outpost of Freedom.

The design rests on the motto of Field Station Berlin:

On Watch

The magnets are available from time to time on eBay. If you can't find them there, write us at the eAddress below and we'll put some up.

While you're here, please take the time to follow the links below, look around the site, and get to know more about Voices Under Berlin: The Tale of a Monterey Mary and Berlin in Early Cold-War Army Booklets. The novel is ostensibly set against the backdrop of the Berlin Tunnel, but it is just as much about life at Field Station Berlin in the mid-1970s as it is about the Berlin Tunnel of the mid-1950s. If you were ever stationed at Field Station Berlin or at Marienfelde, or Herzo Base, or Rothwesten or Augsburg, then this one's for you.
